Day 1 – Wellington to Nelson


  • Ferry across the Cook Strait through Marlborough Sounds and into the arms of the world's best Sauvignon Blanc for a private tasting in a family-owned vineyard.
  • With postcard-perfect vistas and 35,000 hectares under vines, it's a slice of heaven.
  • Meals included: Breakfast

Day 2 – Nelson


  • Dense forest, snow-capped mountains and acres of pinot noir grapes. Green, white and red... no wonder Nelson has been referred to as the Naples of the southern hemisphere.
  • Round out the day with a traditional Kiwi BBQ dinner
  • Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 3 – Nelson to Kaikoura


  • More wine you say? Okay. Today you’ll head back through the Rai Valley and Marlborough Wine Region to stop at a secret Marlborough Winery for some famous NZ wine tastings.
  • Then it's down the coast to spy New Zealand fur seals at Ohau Point before reaching our destination at Kaikoura.
  • Meals included: Breakfast

Day 4 – Kaikoura to Christchurch


  • Make some marine mates and brace yourself for the triple threat of dolphin swimming, seal swimming or whale watching.
  • Meals included: Breakfast

Day 5 – Christchurch to Fox Glacier


  • Roll across the pastoral patchwork quilt that forms the Canterbury Plains and watch 50 shades of green melt into snow-topped peaks. Hang out in Hokitika for whitebait fritters and Pounamu (Jade) shopping, then take your best photography shot of NZ's two tallest mountain peaks reflected in Lake Matheson.

Day 6 – Fox Glacier to Queenstown


  • Scale a mountain in minutes to get amongst ethereal ice caves and formations. With barely enough time to let your heart rate slow, you’ll journey back through the mountains past Lake Wanaka and Lake Hawea.

Day 7 & 8 – Queenstown

  • This lakeside city of Queenstown has adrenaline on tap and will match any adventure you had in mind. Get your fix with bungy, a narrow canyon swing, Shotover Jet, or paragliding, hiking, horse riding and the skyline gondola.

Day 9 – Queenstown to Fiordland


  • Carved by glaciers during the ice age, the Milford Sound comes complete with seals, dolphins and thundering waterfalls. Steeped in Maori myth, this is a history and geology lesson rolled into one, minus the homework.
  • Meals included: Breakfast

Day 10 – Fiordland to Lake Ohau


  • Recharge your batteries with venison burgers and a central Otago pinot noir in Arrowtown then zigzag across the five bridges that span the ever-changing Arrow River.
  • Test your nerves on the suspension bridge then chill out by the crystal clear river waters while you catch your breath.
  • Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 11 – Lake Ohau to Christchurch

  • Return to Christchurch and/or onward travels

Valid for travel 01 Apr 2017 – 26 Mar 2018.  The packaged advertised herein does not include international airfare and that would be additional to the per person price listed above.  All bookings are subject to availability at time of booking.  Prices advertised are subject to change without notice until such time as the package is booked and paid for.  Please note that due to space and weight restrictions on the coach busses, passengers with too much luggage on departure morning may be told that they cannot take their entire luggage with them – Please limit your luggage to a maximum of 20kg.  There are currently no compulsory vaccinations required for either Australia or New Zealand. Please reconfirm this with your GP or health professional before you leave as conditions can change.  Downunder Travel Ltd. is the agent/broker in this equation and for that reason is not responsible for any issues or incidents which result in clients expenditure outside of the package booked paid for and agreed upon. All passengers traveling to Australia must have an Australian travel Visa. Please advise your Downunder Travel Specialist should you be traveling on anything other than a Canadian or U.S. passport.  All Canadian Citizens must re-enter Canada on a valid Canadian Passport. Please make sure your passport is valid for more than six months after the last day of your trip. Some countries will refuse entry if there is not at least six months validity remaining on your passport after your departure date from their country.  Airfare, taxes & fuel surcharges component of package must be paid in full at time of booking at which time the airfare becomes non-refundable. We highly recommend that all passengers protect themselves with cancellation / interruption insurance which will cover them against cancellations due to non pre-existing medical conditions which cause them penalties or other expenses. We also highly recommend medical insurance for any travel outside of your home province.
