Introducing Nikki – Destination Specialist

After working in the hospitality industry for 6 years, I’m now living the dream and pursuing my passion for travel.  My love of travel began over three years ago when I got the opportunity to complete a 14-month long world backpacking trip, where I visited 23 countries on this life changing experience.  I’ve also had my fair share of embarking on long flights and I find, being an avid reader, flights are a great opportunity to get lost in a good book!

I have always believed that Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific have been desirable regions to Canadians—there’s always something for every traveller in these destinations whether you’re a wine lover or foodie, an adrenaline junkie or you’re simply looking for a getaway with magnificent landscapes, beaches and beautiful weather.  These countries are also easy to navigate as the common spoken language is mainly English ...and it helps that the locals are very friendly and welcoming too! Plus, Canadians can never get tired of the stunning clear blue lagoons—a unique feature in the South Pacific!

Speaking of stunning clear lagoons, to this day Aitutaki, Cook Islands remains to be the most beautiful beach destination I've ever travelled to!  With the island’s pristine white-sand beaches, turquoise calm waters extending as far as the eye can see – and virtually no crowds on the beach (unlike most popular beach destinations) – you will not find a more perfect spot to claim as your own and soak up sun!

A ‘hidden gem’ of the South Pacific I like to recommend to travellers is to visit Wanaka, New Zealand!  As a small lakeside town nestled in the mountains on the South Island, Wanaka's gorgeous landscapes are arguably one of the most scenic views than neighbouring Queenstown, but nowhere near as busy, which is great for those seeking a relaxing holiday.  Plus, you’ll love the abundance of hikes, as well as kayaking, canoeing, skydiving… and even the opportunity to fly a small plane available in this area. If you are visiting New Zealand though, I recommend doing a self-drive—there’s nothing like having the freedom of exploring new terrain at your own pace!  Highly recommended!

Travel quotes I love:
