Explore Australia’s gorgeous east coast, while taking in the plentiful iconic sights of Byron Bay, the Sydney harbour and on to bustling Brisbane. Sample wine and cheese in the Hunter Valley, get up close to koalas at an animal hospital, splash about in pristine swimming holes, and cruise around the clear blue waters off Port Macquarie.

Itinerary:

 

 

Day 1: Sydney

·         Your East Coast Australia tour experience starts in Australia's Harbour City, the glittering jewel in the east coast's crown. Make your own way to our joining hotel, where you’ll meet your guide and travel group.

·         Meals included: Dinner

Day 2: Hunter Valley & Newcastle

·         Leave the hustle and bustle of Sydney for the chilled out
Hunter Valley. Your guide will point out koalas and kangaroos as we make our way to a gourmet lunch – Sample cheese, and wine, and chocolate!

·         Meals included: Breakfast

Day 3: Port Macquarie

·         After an amazing local breakfast, we hit the scenic Lakes Way for a coastal walk and lookout climb.

·         Meals included: Breakfast

Day 4: Dorrigo National Park

·         Start by meeting the volunteers at a local koala hospital

·         Stop in Nambucca Heads to share in a unique and immersive Gumbaynggirr First Nations experience that will get you in touch with the traditional custodians of this land, lore and ancient cultural knowledge.

·         Finish the day in true Aussie style in the Dorrigo National Park: at a traditional pub where you can relax and have a few drinks

·         Meals included: Breakfast

Day 5: Dorrigo National Park to Byron Bay

·         Visit Dangar Falls for a refreshing dip in its cascading waters.

·         You’ll also visit Dorrigo National Park, known for its lush, sub-tropical rainforest and waterfalls. Once dry, your group will be headed to Byron Bay, a laid-back surf paradise with boundless coastline, sand and friendly locals. You will visit the local lighthouse for a unique photo opportunity and the chance for the eagle-eyed to spot dolphins, whales, and other marine life.

Day 6: Byron Bay

·         Today’s a day at leisure. Perhaps start the day with a swim in the ocean, indulge in a massage, or stretch out your limbs at an optional yoga class. Otherwise take a stroll around town and check out what all the fuss is about.

·         Meals included: none

Day 7: Brisbane

·         After breakfast continue to Brisbane where your trip will come to an end this morning

·         Meals included: Breakfast

All passengers traveling to Australia must have an Australian travel Visa. Please advise your Downunder Travel Specialist should you be traveling on anything other than a Canadian or U.S. passport.  All Canadian Citizens must re-enter Canada on a valid Canadian Passport. Airfare, taxes & fuel surcharges component of package must be paid in full at time of booking at which time the airfare becomes non-refundable. We highly recommend that all passengers protect themselves with cancellation / interruption insurance which will cover them against cancellations due to non pre-existing medical conditions which cause them penalties or other expenses.
