TRIP ITINERARY
Best of South Korea - from Seoul to Seoul
11 Day Adventure
Day 1: Arrive Seoul, South Korea
Today you will be met on arrival at Incheon International Airport and transferred to your Seoul hotel where you will stay for 2 nights.
Day 2: Seoul Sightseeing
Spend today exploring Seoul on a guided city sightseeing tour including Gyeongbok Palace (closed Tuesdays, alternative available Deoksu Palace), National Folk Museum, Insadong antique street, Gwanghwamun Plaza and Namdaemun Market. Meals included: Breakfast & Lunch
Day 3: Seoul to Jeju Island
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Jeju Island (flight not included in price). This natural volcanic treasure has UNESCO listed lava tubes. You will visit Hallim Park, a tea museum and the Yongmeori Coast on the southwest of the island which is a beautiful natural landscape formed by sea erosion of sandstone layers accumulated over millions of years. Meals included: Breakfast & Lunch
Day 4: Jeju Island
Explore the island today including UNESCO Natural Heritage site Manjanggul Lava Cave, one of the largest lava tubes in the world, UNESCO World Heritage site Seongsan Sunrise Peak for magnificent views, ancient Seongeup Folk Village and Yongduam Rock Beach. Meals included: Breakfast & Lunch
Day 5: Jeju Island to Busan
Leave Jeju island today and fly to Busan, Korea’s largest port city (flight not included in price). On arrival visit Jagalchi Fish Market, the largest seafood market in South Korea selling live and dried seafood, Gukje Market a huge street market over 60 years old featuring hundreds of alleyways with stalls indoors and outdoors as well as a food alley. Stop at BIFF Street in Busans movie district filled with shopping and street food. You will also see Gamcheon Culture Village, known as ‘Korea’s Santorini’ or ‘Busans Macchi Picchu’ due to its location on a mountain slope, layered streets, maze of alleyways and brightly painted houses. Meals included: Breakfast & Lunch
Day 6: Busan to Gyeongju
Travel to Gyeongju by road (approximately 100km, 1.5 hour drive), the old capital city of Shilla Kingdom. Here you will visit Gyeongju Historic Areas, a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Ancient Tomb complex, Cheomseongdae Observatory, Donggung Palace & Wolji Pond, Seokguram Grotto & Bulguksa Temple. Meals included: Breakfast & Lunch
Day 7: Gyeongju to Andong and Sokcho
Continue your adventure today first to Andong (approximately 165km, 2 hours drive), where you see UNESCO World Heritage listed Andong Hahoe Village. Then travel Yeongju (approximately 70km, 1 hour drive) to see UNESCO World Heritage listed Buseoksa Temple. After travelling a further 280lm, 3.5 hours drive, your final stop for the day is Sokcho, one of the most beautiful areas in the country, known for its hiking, temples, and views. Meals included: Breakfast & Lunch
Day 8: Sokcho
Spend the day exploring Mt Seoraksan National Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Protection site that ranks among the most beautiful parks on the Korean Peninsula and discover Shinheungsa Temple, one of the most beautifully located Buddhist temples in Korea. Finish your day discovering the local Sokcho Jungang Market. Meals included: Breakfast & Lunch
Day 9: Sokcho to Chuncheon and Seoul
Travel back to Seoul today, stopping off in the scenic lakeside city of Chuncheon and Nami Island, famous for featuring as a shooting location for the K-Drama “Winter Sonata”. Meals included: Breakfast & Lunch
Day 10: Seoul
Explore more of Seoul today including Namsan Seoul Tower, the National Museum of Korea (note: closed Monday, alternative would be the National Museum of Contemporary History), Gwangjang Market where you can have an authentic Korean street food adventure and Hongdae University Street. Meals included: Breakfast & Lunch
Day 11: Depart Seoul, South Korea
Today is at your leisure until it is time for you to depart Seoul. You will be transferred to Incheon International Airport for your onward flight Meals included: Breakfast
