From Sydney to Tasmania: Itinerary Nuggets!

My trip to Sydney and Tasmania last week was incredible!  I enjoyed Sydney for two days before I ventured off to Tasmania, however, I must say that Sydney is such an iconic city – it’s got a happening night life, a vibrant and upbeat culture and so many neat activities to experience.

Tasmania is a place that boasts an abundance of natural landscapes such as with Wineglass Bay and Cradle Mountain, and a rich history through preserved architecture and stories that have been passed on through generations. Here are a few of my favourite activities – in both Sydney and Tasmania – that are highly recommended for an Australian itinerary:

Sydney:

1)    Coastal Cliffwalk:

The six kilometer walk between Bondi & Coogee beaches, also known as the Coastal Cliffwalk.  This walk gives you stunning views of the beaches, parks, rock pools and cliffs!

2)    Captain Cook Cruise:

The Captain Cook Harbour Cruise allows you to enjoy a wonderful dinner (or lunch or scenic cruise) overlooking the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge from the harbour waters.

Tasmania:

1)    MONA (Museum of Old and New Art):

From thought provoking art that makes you really pause and reflect to ancient finds and artifacts, there is much to see here in this modern museum.

2)    Freycinet Twilight Kayaking Tour:

This tour is great for all levels of kayakers and it’s a great way to tour and experience a new place, such as Freycinet’s pink granite mountains, from the water.

3)    Cradle Mountain:

The ever-dramatic Cradle Mountain affords a gorgeous view, especially when walking through the nearby rainforests or along the shores of Dove Lake.  It’s also a great location for camping!
