Itinerary:

 

Day 1: Port Elizabeth – Addo Elephant National Park, South Africa                                  

  • On arrival at Port Elizabeth Airport, you will be met and transferred to Addo National Park.
  • A benchmark conservation success, Addo Elephant National Park offers a unique wildlife habitat, famous for the Addo elephants and the remaining population of the flightless dung beetle.

 

Day 2 & 3: Tsitsikamma, South Africa                                                                                

  • This morning after breakfast the journey will takes you to a region of startling beauty along South Africa’s southern coastline, known as the Garden Route. You’ll spend two nights at the heart of the Tsitsikamma Forest. You will take a leisurely hike along one of the short trails, which allow you to explore the coastal bush and rocky shoreline.

Day 4: Oudtshoorn, South Africa                                                                                  

  • After visiting ‘The Heads’ in Knysna, a town nestled on a tranquil lagoon, we travel over the Outeniqua Mountains into the Little Karoo to the town of Oudtshoorn.
  • You will take a trip to the famous Cango Caves, with their impressive ancient stalagmites and stalactites before we overnight in the ostrich capital of the world.
  • Meals included: Breakfast

 

Day 5 & 6: Cape Town, South Africa                                                                                   

  • En-route to Cape Town, you’ll visit the pretty university town of Stellenbosch, for wine tasting and a cellar tour. Once in Cape Town the afternoon is at leisure.
  • The next day you will explore the many attractions that the ‘Mother City’ has to offer on our Cape Point tour.
  • Meals included: Breakfast (x2)

 

Day 7: Cape Town, South Africa                                                                                          

  • Spend the final day at leisure. Weather dependent there is the chance to take the cable car up Table Mountain (at own expense) and enjoy one last view of the Cape of Good Hope before your transfer to the airport.

Prices advertised are subject to change without notice until such time as the package is booked and paid for.  Safaris uses fully equipped customized 12-seater 4x4 safari vehicles, Toyota Land Cruisers or other appropriate vehicles with comfortable seating, large windows for game viewing and a music system. The vehicles are fully air-conditioned and equipped with pop-up roofs to facilitate the best game viewing.  All travelling times are affected by road conditions, border crossings, detours and weather conditions, therefore on certain days travelling times may be longer than anticipated especially where there is a lot of distance to be covered.  Downunder Travel Ltd. is the agent/broker in this equation and for that reason is not responsible for any issues or incidents which result in clients expenditure outside of the package booked paid for and agreed upon.  Clients are advised to bring enough money to cover the purchase of curios, tips, alcoholic drinks and additional entertainment.  Visas are required to visit South Africa, Swaziland and Lesotho and need to be arranged prior to departure; contact us for assistance. Accommodations are mid-range typical African standard lodge accommodation.  Accommodation is situated either in national parks, on the banks of a river, or in other places of interest.  All travelling times are affected by road conditions, border crossings, detours and weather conditions, therefore on certain days travelling times may be longer than anticipated.  Our Destination Specialists can help the client arrange for all entry visas required to visit Zimbabwe and South Africa prior to departure.   Please advise your Downunder Travel Specialist should you be travelling on anything other than a Canadian or U.S. passport.  Airfare, taxes & fuel surcharges component of package must be paid in full at time of booking at which time the airfare becomes non-refundable.  We highly recommend that all passengers protect themselves with cancellation / interruption insurance which will cover them against cancellations due to non pre-existing medical conditions which cause them penalties or other expenses.  Travel and cancellation insurance is mandatory for every guest travelling on African safaris.
